Loud sound coming from water cooling system
After a few tests, I found that increasing the RPM of my CPU block made this noise. Can I fix this? I don't really want the hassle of getting a warranty because it will take a month or two. Even a replacement will take a month... I'd rather buy a new one than wait. m2-res_1920p.mp4
It's important to know if the AIO keeps your CPU cool at its current speed. If yes, I'd stick with it and maybe have an extra air cooler ready. Also, do you use PWM or DC voltage for your CPU block? It's easy to mix up a PWN pump with one set for DC. Regarding the noise, it sounds more like a fan blade hitting something than a CPU block. Have a great day!
Based on my tests, the noise appeared near 2100 RPM, but anything lower was very quiet. A three-hour stress test showed no problems once the RPM was limited. The sound was quite similar to what I saw before, so I reworked all the cable management to resolve it. Also, I haven’t confirmed whether it uses PWM or DC—any idea how to find that out? Have a great day!
Whatever generates the noise, the pump speed isn't crucial. A lower speed gives the water more time to warm up in the CPU block, but also more time to cool in the radiator, which balances things out. If you can't identify the cause, just run it at the highest comfortable setting and stop there.
I understand. I’ll just replace it and get a new one. The noises are quite unusual, and I don’t want to damage my 7800x3d. The temperatures have been rising too—75 yesterday to 85 now. I’d rather not take any chances.
