The GPU you replaced matches the one used in the original build. It appears to be a different model but functions similarly. The sound might seem speaker-like because the audio processing is being handled through your PC's speakers rather than a dedicated output device.

Yep, the same coil whine appears with a Seasonic focus GX and a Gigabyte P1000. Play it at 4250 hz. The identical sound is coming from my PC — just a clean tone. EDIT: Missed the initial query. I had a 3070 Twin Edge, swapped in a 3080 TUF. It’s not even close in comparison.
