I switched to the latest Windows update without realizing the issue, anyone have advice on recovering the data? I own a Seagate 3TB 7200rpm SATA HDD that I used for school projects and some CAD work. Sadly, everything was lost on the drive. I don’t have any backups since my system lacks extra storage space. No new files have been added yet.

mount the drive on a dock on a different device and execute data recovery using EaseUS Data Recovery 7.5, which functions well for you; others might find alternative methods helpful.

I'm checking if it functions on Ubuntu. (My system is an older server with Ubuntu 18.04.)

Additionally, I've learned that a system restore or revert doesn't function properly with this issue.

It could work on a 10. I haven't tested it, but I only thought it would need a different operating system or an older machine to prevent any issues with the drive.

Recovery processes require significant time, not quick fixes.
