I want to boost my computer's performance slightly since I experience some lag while playing Overwatch and streaming music on another monitor.
Here are the details of my system:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 200, 4095 mb memory
Processor: i7-4790k 4.0ghz
RAM: Crucial Ballistidx Tactical 16GB kit (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 UDIMM
Motherboard: MAXIMUS VII HERO
Storage: Crucial M500 240GB SSD
Case: Cooler Master HAF X - Full Tower Computer
Power Supply: XFX PRO 850W Black Edition
I’m unsure how much to increase without risking crashes, as this is my first overclocking attempt. Thank you.

what's your cooling setup like? that chip tends to get extremely hot. i think high-end air or water cooling would work well. you should use the bios for overclocking, basically just increase the multiplier until you reach the desired speed and then add voltage until it stabilizes. however, if the system is still lagging, it could be due to internet problems, since it's almost top-of-the-line.

what is your cooling situation? that chip can get very very hot. I would say high end air cooling or water cooling is a good idea. you will want to use the BIOS for overclocking, pretty much you just raise the multiplier so that you get eh speed you want and add voltage until it is just stable. although, if that system is lagging, then it might be internet issues, as it is pretty near top of the line.
