Go with R3600 or hold off. Upgrade your GPU afterward—even if the games run on CPU, you’ll still benefit from a better one. Consider 1660 Ti or 5700. We’ll find out more later.

I used an old i7 4790k for 181 dollars, which was the best I could find from a questionable seller but trusted source. The r5 3600 was priced at 233 dollars from a reputable place.

However, for Ryzen models you'll likely need a new motherboard and RAM. Still, if you manage to save for a platform upgrade, it's worth considering that option.
