Hi, I have a Samsung RC530 laptop. I'm attempting to increase its CPU performance by adjusting the FSB speed to extract more MHz. I also use an external laptop cooler. I tried using setFSB software, but it doesn't support the clock generator on my RC530—it seems like the motherboard tag isn't available, and I couldn't find any relevant information online about overclocking this model. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks a lot.

You wish to use your Samsung RC530 but are running an i7-2630QM processor instead.

OMG same! I'm trying to overclock too, but no software supports my processor, i7-2670QM. Also, I can't overclock from the BIOS since the jumper setting isn't available—any other options I should know about?

Same here, using a Samsung RC510 with an i5 480M.
I’ve already increased the fan voltage from 3V to 5V, added TX-4 thermal paste, swapped the DVD drive for a SATA drive, set RAID0 on the SSDs, and replaced the motherboard. It’s been a year since I came across a discussion about overclocking these laptops.
Can I still boost the performance of my i5 480M?
