Hello everyone, I'm looking for a suitable z490 motherboard to go with an i7 10700k. I'm not keen on spending more than £400, but I'd prefer around £300. Overclocking is important to me. So far I've considered: MSDI Meg Ace £390 gigabyte master, Ultra £330 MSDI Unify £293 gigabyte elite non-wifi, and rest of build with the listed specs.

I switched from the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master to the Z490 Aorus Master. The best MBs I've ever experienced.

I'm not sure, but I'd prefer the same as GPU manufactures to avoid extra bloatware from various vendors. I'm frustrated with Gigabyte's software not functioning well on my ASUS build. The EVGA Z490 FTW WiFi seems like a better choice—it's around 329$, which might be cheaper in pounds, though it isn't currently available on Amazon.

The 10-700K offers poor performance. Check the GN analysis. Consider the i5 10600K or Ryzen 9 3900X instead. The i7 is not worth it.

I'm really pleased with my Aorus Master Z390. I haven't found any reviews for the 490 yet.

The master appears to be quite popular. I'm checking if it's worth the extra compared to an elite, especially since I can get an elite and a 10,900k for the same amount as a 10,700k. My setup is mainly for gaming, so I'm not sure if I'd notice any advantages with a 10,900k.

Another idea would be helpful, as it's hard to locate any Evga Z490 boards in the UK.

The 10700k outperforms the 3900x in gaming, but the 3900x is more expensive. For uses other than gaming, the 3900x seems like a better choice.

Purchase the i5 10600K – the i7 model isn’t worth it for gaming.
