There’s been a notable rise in demand for Windows 10 Pro keys recently. This trend likely stems from people purchasing large quantities of keys at low prices—often around £10 per set—and then reselling them on platforms like Amazon or directly from Windows stores. The issue lies in the lack of transparency and potential fraud, as these keys are frequently sold at inflated resale prices. This practice has grown due to easy access to digital keys, low barriers for buyers, and the profit opportunities it creates for those who can exploit it.

Windows is sufficient enough for its value, so I’m not concerned about these. If you need a budget key, go for it—I just warn against using pirated versions, as they may hide harmful keyloggers.

Often these claims seem unrealistic or require phone activation, which feels uncertain.

It's intriguing to consider. It might be possible that MS is offering discounts just before freeing up Windows. They could still earn revenue through subscription services like Office.

Just to confirm, I'm not here to cut costs or start my own Windows 10 business. This came up during a chat with a friend about making quick cash, and I think it's a poor move. I'm interested in hearing others' experiences—how simple or complicated the process was, and whether this trend really took off. Have a great day everyone!

Today Microsoft earns money across numerous industries, making Windows surprisingly unnecessary as the sole operating system you must purchase.

The problems here usually stem from the Windows copy being compromised or simply fake. They might function sometimes or not at all. As @Princess Cadence noted, cracked versions could include keyloggers or other harmful software. This trend has risen due to Windows' widespread use. -Moved to Windows-

Microsoft has been setting high prices for their operating system. Users often buy licenses for private use and might later sell them. I recently purchased three keys for 10 Pro through r/microsoftsoftwareswap to check for problems. A quick note: I’m hoping Microsoft adjusts pricing, offering $50 for Home and $100 for Pro instead of the current $120 and $200. The costs seem unreasonable since volume licensing could let me buy many keys and resell them later.

I’m fine with paying for Windows OS since that gives me the right to get upset if I ever see an ad or promotion from Microsoft. A free version from them would likely be the worst idea ever (like Bing only, e.g., Clipstrip).
