Hello, I recently upgraded my GT77HX Titan 13980HX 4090 to the MSI Titan 18HX 14900HX 4090, and I managed to do it with minimal issues. The laptop offers four DIMM slots, which slightly restricts overclocking since it uses a quad RAM board. I currently have two 16GB DDR5 6400 CL38 XMP modules for gaming and four 48GB 5600 modules for productivity, swapping as needed. My goal is to reach at least 6000Mhz stability on the RAM. The settings that pass Memtest86 are referenced here. When I try a memory ratio of 5900, the system flashes the power button repeatedly and requires a 40-second CMOS reset. However, copying XMP profiles like the 6000Mhz CL38 profile works—boots fine, crashes in games, and Memtest86 shows errors, appearing as WHEA in Event Viewer. Anyone have suggestions to improve stability?
