Just ensure there are no existing issues with the adapter they're using

The top choice would be an Intel AX210 PCIe WiFi adapter installed internally, provided your system has a PCIe port. Using a wall adapter for WiFi is unnecessary and likely ineffective due to interference from nearby power sources. It’s better to place the adapter close to the main outlet for optimal performance. Ideally, consider a model with antennas on a pigtail that you can adjust for the strongest signal.

1) How quickly are you spending on your internet service? (And what kind is it?)
2) Which rates are you receiving actually?
3) What device handles the connection?
4) How much does the Ethernet cable measure? WiFi and Ethernet differ significantly, and their speeds aren’t interchangeable.

Sure, let's talk about that classic setup.

If we're being precise, the setup should include both WiFi and wired connections. Although technically WiFi isn't Ethernet, since it transforms Ethernet into a wireless signal before converting it back, it's still a close match. It can be quite confusing when people refer to their broadband as "WiFi."

I believe someone finally identified this as one of those Wi-Fi multi-mode devices. I had one that performed well, but attempting to brick it with incompatible firmware would be risky. Uploading new firmware isn’t straightforward—it demands thorough telnet and serial cable checks. I’d suggest connecting the adapter nearer to the router and using a longer cable. When it functioned properly before being bricked, I achieved strong coverage exceeding 50 feet.
