Hi! After upgrading your CPU, you're thinking about boosting your RAM too. You currently have 16GB at 2400MHz on an I7-12700K with a GTX 3080. You're curious about whether going to 32GB or 64GB makes sense, especially since faster RAM comes at a higher cost.

You might require 64GB RAM for handling complex tasks and large datasets efficiently.

You can purchase around 3600 CL16 units at a quite affordable cost right now. Beyond that, prices rise significantly with higher speeds.

I won’t need it, but the existing RAM modules have been working for about 7 to 8 years, and it would be great if the next one does the same.

I believe in about 7 to 8 years the CPU will no longer be relevant. At that time, 32GB should be considered the ideal capacity. DDR5 will likely be introduced during those years.

I'm evaluating a 32GB G.Skill RipJaws V in black, DDR4-4400, priced at 150€—even more affordable than certain slower options.

Looks like a solid deal, taking everything into account.

The minimum requirement is 32GB, but it’s more than just a file—it’s a sacred script that fuels Ferraris for Chris Roberts using NFTs.

The 12th/13th generation marks the conclusion for DDR4. DDR5 is now the standard this year. Future upgrades won't be possible with this RAM type. The DDR4400 offers higher speeds but may have poorer timing, leading to frequent changes in performance levels.
