Hello, everyone. I noticed Star Citizen is running a trial until December, and since I haven’t played it much and heard much about it, I wanted to try. My main concerns are the advice about using an SSD instead of an HDD and needing at least 32GB of RAM—even 16GB isn’t enough. Do any of you have insights or confirm these points? I only have 16GB of RAM and my SSD doesn’t have enough free space, so I’m not planning to delete files or reinstall anything. Thanks in advance for your help!

It's a free trial, give it a go and see what you think? You don't have anything to lose.

Sure, I'm checking with others who were playing to verify or refute what I've heard.

16gb works, but using it on an HDD causes slow performance and heavy loading. Just give it a try—it’s a rough build either way Smile

Absolutely, they're really putting in a lot of effort to get things right.

Played on a 16GB RAM system (Razer Blade 14). Generally runs smoothly most of the time, though FPS drops significantly in crowded areas and there’s noticeable stuttering. A possible fix exists, but I recommend upgrading to 32GB RAM. Still, avoid getting too attached—some players find it risky due to their habits. Ultimately, it’s an enjoyable experience, but smooth performance is rare compared to other titles. It feels a bit like Gary's mod, emphasizing personal enjoyment over perfection.
