The ideal choice would be a 3800 CL14-15-15 package, though locating them is extremely difficult, particularly in a 2x16GB setup and they often exceed the combined value of the CPU and motherboard. A more feasible alternative is a 2x16GB 3600 CL14-15-15 unit, which tends to be significantly cheaper while still delivering performance close to 3800. Adjusting the memory voltage slightly can enable the 3800 model to function. Still, even with these tweaks, such kits remain prohibitively costly and offer only marginal gains compared to a 3600 CL18 model priced under half that amount. Unless you're purchasing a used unit or planning to overclock, opting for a high-end kit isn't worthwhile given the expense. Stick with models in the 3600 CL18 or 3200 CL16 ranges; higher-end options won't provide substantial benefits for a single CCD Ryzen 5000.

It’s a bit better than the previous options, yet it’s still likely to exceed what makes sense for this configuration. Investing over $200 in DDR4 RAM right now seems unreasonable, as it offers only marginal gains compared to loose timing DDR4. The single CCD Ryzen 5000 chips don’t see much improvement in performance with more memory, and the price is far higher than what DDR5 would provide. If you just want a bit more space, upgrading your RAM makes sense, but spending this much on a premium kit isn’t justified.
