I've been limiting my antivirus to Windows Defender and Malwarebytes for my project, staying cautious about potential threats. I've researched various free options: Avira works but is quite heavy, while BitDefender doesn’t offer any settings or configuration. Both have caused issues with Steam, leading to connection problems that VAC disapproves of. I'm aware there are many alternatives, but finding a reliable one quickly is tough. Could you suggest an antivirus that’s straightforward and won’t interfere with Steam?

I've applied AVG to every machine for years and never faced problems with Steam.

Common sense is often the initial protection on the internet, but having an alternative strategy would be helpful if needed.

I'm using Bitdefender and haven't faced any issues with games. It runs smoothly in the background, making it almost invisible.

He first disabled Steam, making it necessary to disable scanning entirely. Microsoft then swapped it with Windows Defender, though it’s less effective than other options.

Your device might be damaged or the security settings are too strict. I usually keep it on standard mode, but sometimes I disable access scanning for issues like cracks.
