Looking for the most affordable setup to run a fully upgraded iRacing with a triple screen?
I've been away from PC building for over six years... My desktop costs around 5930k, which was brand new when I installed my last rig. I mainly play iRacing, and the setup works fine. I'm considering a dedicated PC just for the simrig. Anyone know the most affordable build to run the game at full 3x 1440p? I'm in Denmark, but I think I can source parts locally—maybe a Ryzen 5 7? I already have an SSD, an AX750 Corsair PSU, and an ATX case. The build quality is fine, but I'm looking for a good RAM and GPU combo. My current setup is a 1080Ti, which seems solid for my needs, though I don't want to risk it.
3x 1440p rendering on one GPU? You could go with an 2080 Ti or hold off for a 3000-series chip. RAM specs matter less than speed—3200/3600 MHz CL16 or below works fine. For the build, check out reviews from Gamers Nexus, Hardware Unboxed, or the detailed YouTube content on Actually Hardcore Overclocking. They provide thorough insights while staying knowledgeable.
Before now, iracing ran smoothly with one core at a time and prioritized high clock speeds. It's unclear if anything has shifted since then, but a 10600k chip seems like a solid, affordable option. I imagine pairing it with a motherboard supporting overclocking and around 3600 RAM would be ideal. I'm still unsure if iracing has updated, though I remember it used to be single-threaded—maybe disabling some cores could help boost performance.
Perhaps I'm uncertain about what they prefer. I recall it was very responsive to processing speed before.
I hope I can help with a few of your questions. Right now I’m just playing games and don’t want to get too technical.
