Checking for switches with 24 ports or more, especially those offering a solid upgrade route. I'm also exploring options like 2.5Gb switches that match or exceed the port count. Right now I'm using a Netgear JGS524 switch; you can view my setup here: the provided link.

Back then, for those switches you could buy at a lower cost for home projects, people often sought used industrial items. I’m not sure if this practice is still common.

If the setup is inside a home, I’d prefer a compact office or home-based configuration. Standard server models rated at 1Gbps and above consume a lot of power and generate significant noise, particularly with 24 ports or more.

Noise isn't an issue here because it's located in a server room inside the house. We'll keep using the JGS524 switch as it meets our requirements now, thank you for your assistance.
