usually theres an "XMP Profile" you can set. put your lowest speed ram in slot 2 and the faster one in slot 4, you should be able to automatically select the slower "XMP Profile"

At the moment, my XMP is turned off, which is the sole choice available to me.

Correct, since it's a 2133MHz RAM module, the DDR4 base speed should be around that frequency. I don't think an XMP profile is necessary.

It suggests you might choose between 2400 or 2666 RAM, but ultimately it may only support 2133. You're welcome for the weekend!

The diagram in your initial message details the clock speeds listed in the motherboard manual: Skylake Non-Z at 2133 MHz, Kaby Lake Non-Z at 2400 MHz, Coffee Lake Non-Z at 2400 MHz for i3 and below, and 2666 MHz for i5 and above.
