In your consideration, what upgrades would offer the most value given your current setup? With a mid-graphics configuration or below, maintaining smooth performance is key. I’m seeking sensible improvements without overspending.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Built in 2017, the PSU is five years old. You should consider updating the platform, at least, and upgrade your GPU. Could you share your budget for the upgrades, your location, and where you'd like to buy? It looks like you've changed the case too—2023 might not be ideal for a case that worked well in its earlier days, especially with modern hardware.

It's been a lot to handle with a complete overhaul at this stage; there aren't any major improvements that fit your motherboard or CPU needs, and the 7700K won't support modern GPUs well. You might consider getting a 5800X3D or X570 board from someone who recently switched to AM5, and you could reuse your existing RAM if possible—though it's likely you'd need to upgrade to DDR5, which means you can't just swap parts around easily. That would mean either keeping the current setup as a backup or selling/donating it later. For the GPU, the 7800X3D is a solid choice with DDR5-6000 or better, and you should also think about replacing your power supply, which will likely need a derated unit after six years. It's probably okay for now, but you shouldn't risk adding new components to it. As for graphics, the 7800XT or 7900XT on AMD are currently top picks at 1440P, and the RTX 4070TI is a strong option if you're on a budget. If those aren't enough, you might want to look into older-generation models.

It's disheartening to find nothing worthwhile to do. I recently purchased a new PC and was planning to extend its lifespan by upgrading it, aiming for a budget of less than $500.

Around $100 for a new power supply unit, and the remainder on the most powerful graphics card available, assuming you won’t reach its full potential. Not exactly perfect, but likely the best you can achieve with that budget.

Thank you for the input. I'm not in the mood to start over entirely. Perhaps I can keep going with what's there for now.

The request is about making the person switch to a PSU with a 10-year warranty after just six years, which seems unnecessary and could be seen as a waste of resources.

I thought the G3s were a bit outdated, but I should mention I didn't check the exact make.
