Looking for suggestions on laptops with the best battery life?
Looking for recommendations on the best battery laptops from 2017 to 2019. I'm working with a tight budget and prefer older models. The primary tasks are office work and video watching, not requiring heavy GPU or intensive workloads. Should I consider Celeron, Pentium, i3, or i5 options? Just want to confirm the laptop can last longer on battery life.
If you have worries about battery endurance, opt for a CPU with lower power consumption (TDP).
This older i3 model consumes up to 15W

The newer Pentium model uses up to 6W

I think the latest Pentiums are designed for 2 cores with 4 threads or 4/4, which should be more than enough for everyday tasks and video viewing.
Just remember to install an SSD!
Modern laptops incorporate advanced technologies to enhance battery performance. If long-lasting battery life is your priority, newer models are preferable.
don't get a n5030, i have one and it's really quiet. even when running on just one core (watching a video or using youtube), it slows down to 1.8 ghz and sometimes even less due to low TDP. you can't even boost it with xtu or throttle stop, and it's hard to increase it further. i thought about lowering the TDP of a more powerful cpu using throttle stop, which might save battery too.
Why is long battery life important in an office setting where you can stay plugged in?
Older laptops usually had limited battery performance.
Even with upgrades, the results were often disappointing.
If you purchase a used model, expect to replace the battery eventually.
A backup battery can be useful for extended usage.
Slower processors require a solid solution, such as an SSD.
I would never choose a laptop without the option to use an SSD for the main drive.
