I'm testing my old laptop running Windows 98 and looking for free tools to check its specifications. Something like Speccy won't work because it only supports up to XP.

CPU ID options for Windows 98 are provided. GPU-Z version 0.2 is also accessible. Real Temp supports Windows 98 as well.

They cover a wide range of topics, though the specifics you’re asking about aren’t detailed. I don’t have a version of AIDA 64 compatible with Windows 98, but there may be alternatives available.

It seems Oldapps is a great resource for older programs, and I used it several times with my Toshiba Satellite Pro CDT430.

I hadn't noticed OldApps much before. It was something I relied on often.

I appreciate it, it assisted in bringing back some vintage Macintosh machines such as my Macintosh Plus 1MB (1987) and a Macintosh Performa 600 CD. I used the Satellite Pro’s CD drive to load disk images and transferred them to floppy disks for running these older systems.
