I searched for games that focus on enjoyment rather than violence, and found some interesting options.
Stardew Valley seems like a good starting point, but I’d like to know more about your preferences. Which games do you enjoy? Are there any you prefer to avoid? Do you have a specific theme in mind? Which game style are you interested in? And what is your budget for this project?
Two Point Hospital... if you enjoy simulation games. I'm currently playing one. Classic titles: Planet Coaster, Cities skyline, Anno 2070.
Cities: Skylines update with new content, including guilds of war.
The focus isn’t on ending lives. This story will be challenging... offworld trading firm a strange tale set in an odd world echoing Odysseus’ journey. These games let you confront mutants yet avoid harming humans. Doki Doki Literature Club includes death but not violence. CrossCode isn’t about killing; it’s about attacking. Portal 1 and 2 seem manageable—you might dodge everything in mirrors Edge. The Stanley Parable is frustrating yet entertaining for some. I haven’t tried the Talos principal, but it might not involve killing. Planetbase could work if robot combat is acceptable. Talos Prime might not be about violence. Haydee Moonbase Alpha in Civilization can be played peacefully. Cloudberry Kingdom works best on Wii U with a controller. Kholat is tricky until morning, but deaths are harsh. Fallout 3 finishes without killing anyone. Amnesia Outlast faces danger, but you can survive. Dangerous is intense, yet it doesn’t require killing. Card games like Hearthstone and Splinter Cell can be overcome without harming others.
You dislike The Stanley Parable because it feels like a game that limits freedom, with everything set in place and no real choice. The developers tried to make it seem like players had control, but the truth is it's just a carefully crafted illusion. People often say games pretend to offer options, but in reality, everything is predetermined.
I claim this as someone who pushed through every COD until Black Ops, when it just became too dull. I even tackled advanced warfare. That series is really bad.
