You're starting a gaming build from scratch, which is great! For Skyrim at 60fps on your i5-4690k with a 970GbX and PS4, you'll want solid performance. Your setup looks capable, but keep an eye on mods. Look for pre-built mod packs or bundles that simplify installation—this way you skip the hassle of manual setup.

For optimal visual quality, consider using Skyrim Mod Combiner at http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51467/. Downloading all the mods can be time-consuming, and some are exclusive to the Combiner version. It’s fine to skip certain mods if needed. I haven’t tested it in full; my setup only supports the Lite edition and used just 2 GB of VRAM. +SKSE skse.silverlock.org +SkyUI http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3863/

I need more context about what you're referring to with your internet history. Could you clarify?

Begin with the unofficial updates. There exists an unofficial patch for the original game, plus one for each DLC. Unofficial Skyrim Patch, Dawnguard Patch, Hearthfire Patch, Dragonborn Patch, and a High Resolution Patch (I suggest avoiding the default High Resolution DLC from Bethesda unless you're okay with troubles). But personally, it has caused problems when I tried to modify my game. The only truly necessary mods are Sky UI (requires SKSE, check the mod description) and AFT. After that, consider the Skyrim G.E.M.S mod list—experiment, but be ready for troubleshooting when conflicts arise. It’s normal to face issues; keep trying until you find a stable set that fits your preferences. Eventually, you might end up reinstalling everything from scratch because you’ve installed mods randomly and had to remove them all. Avoid anything from the Steam Workshop—they’re often unreliable, lack updates, and have poor quality. Stick with Skyrim Nexus for mods. You might also find LOOT (Load Order Optimisation Tool) useful for fixing load order conflicts. Ultimately, it comes down to personal choice. I’d advise following what I’ve shared, starting with proven mods, and then exploring others once you’re more comfortable. - Based on someone who has spent extensive time customizing Skyrim and currently has around 240 mods installed.
