I've always really liked the Grid and Dirt racing series by Codemasters. Especially Dirt 3 and Grid Autosport make for enjoyable experiences with friends. For slower games, Eurotruck Sim 2 with mods or spintires are solid options. If you're interested in simulator racing, Assetto Corsa is a great choice.
Crew 2 appears in Forza Horizon 3 and 4, Forza Motorsport 7, Assetto Corsa, and the Colin McRae series.
Your satisfaction with Crew 1 or 2 hinges largely on how you handle the game mechanics, most players seeming to find them lacking. The experiences feel somewhat unoriginal as well.
