Looking for PC games available at big box stores?
Hello everyone, I’m curious about the popularity of collecting old 1990s PC game boxes. Back when I bought a new game, I would proudly show off the boxes around my desk—it really looked cool. Over time, I’ve discarded many of them, thinking they weren’t valuable. Recently, while browsing eBay, I found hundreds of PC big boxes for sale, starting at $50 each, with some original Doom PCs priced in the thousands! My question is: how many people are collecting these items, and what’s the potential value of selling a high-quality box?
Many people gather these items (YouTube channels: MetalJesusRocks, Lazy Game Reviews). I have a few myself, even though I lean toward console collecting. Recently, I purchased a CounterStrike Condition Zero for just $3 at a thrift store today. Fans appreciate these physical copies because digital versions don’t quite match the real experience. I don’t have anything extremely rare—just an old DOS compilation set that could likely fetch around $30.
