My upper limit for a CPU that fits in an LGA1155 is roughly 600 to 700 Lei. I currently have a GeForce GTX 1050 from MSI, and I’m unsure if my motherboard supports an i5-10400F or an I3 10100.

I don’t understand the conversion of Lei to US Dollars or the current options in Romania. The mentioned processors need a new motherboard and RAM.

It depends on your goals, but switching from an i5 2400s to an i3 10100F means you'll need a different motherboard since the sockets differ. How much are you willing to spend? Also, the i3 isn't ideal for gaming anymore—many titles now require at least an i5, with some even suggesting an i7. Steam details include a minimum requirement of a 64-bit processor and operating system—Windows 7 or 10. The recommended setup is a 64-bit processor with Windows 10, an Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G, 12 GB RAM, and either GTX 1060 6GB or GTX 1660 Super graphics, with DirectX version 12. Storage should be at least 70 GB. For a motherboard, the Z590 chipset is suggested as it supports overclocking.
