Hello, I'm setting up a new PC and chose the 12700k for my CPU. I'm still figuring out the best motherboard options and need some advice. I don’t have many ideas for a motherboard, so your help would be really appreciated. Ideally, the board should support WiFi, and I’m planning to use an ATX case. Any suggestions or questions would be great!

Avoid purchasing the 12700k unless you're only interested in showing off an i7. The Intel 13600K offers more cores at a lower price and delivers better performance.

Both options back LGA17100 support; just ensure your motherboard is updated via BIOS.

Choose a solid CPU cooler since Intel gets very hot.

For reliable WiFi, the Gigabyte Z690 UD AX DDR4 is a solid choice if you prefer DDR4. For DDR5, the Gigabyte Z790 UD AC is an option. Switching from WiFi 5 to WiFi 6 drops the feature, but you get DDR5 instead. If WiFi isn’t a priority, both the Asus Prime Z690-P (DDR4 or DDR5) and the 13600K are available around $200. The 13600K seems to offer better value compared to the 12700K.

Absolutely correct, I would have completely ignored it if you hadn’t pointed it out. Thanks a lot!

I aimed for an Nzxt or coarsair aio, but wasn’t sure it fits my budget yet. I’m searching for reliable air coolers.

For superior cooling, consider the Nhd-15.
