I'm working on getting into emulation again. A long time ago my whole library of games, consoles, accessories, etc. from the original PlayStation, Xbox, Gamecube and more was taken. I really need to play Final Fantasy Tactics now (that game was also stolen) but they haven't updated it like they did with all the Pixel Remasters. The last time I tried emulation it was problematic, untrustworthy, and difficult to verify where the files came from. Where should we begin? Which emulator is trustworthy and where can we find it? How do we obtain the ISOs? I just want to avoid searching online and falling for ransomware masquerading as an emulator. Any advice would be great!
Agreed, I hadn't considered that aspect. I'll start researching and see what options are available.
You purchase the discs and extract them. It hasn’t been around for quite a while—things like PS1 and PS2 emulation are almost flawless, as are older releases. The PS3 is also available, and Xbox/360 versions are somewhat inconsistent. You only get emulators from their official sites, with about 99.9% being reliable.
