You're facing an issue where your dual 2x16GB RAM sticks aren't reaching the desired 6000MHz speed on your ASRock board. The BIOS is defaulting to 3600MHz, which affects performance in games and software like Resident Evil 4 Remake and Metro Exodus PC Enhanced. Even though you had one stick before, it performed optimally, but now the dual configuration is causing lag and crashes. You're upgrading from a gaming laptop and haven't tried this before, so you're looking for solutions to unlock full RAM speeds safely.

Yes, you're referring to DDR5 RAM. Please share your motherboard model, CPU type, and confirm the slot assignments—some users mix up A1 with A2 or vice versa.

Adjustment made, A2 and B2 should work. A1 and B1 will trigger a boot at 3600.

The CPU is from Brand X, model Y. The motherboard is Model Z, and the RAM comes in size A.

DDR5 RAM, Intel i5-13400F, ASRock B760-C motherboard. It fits in one slot and slot three. You're using the TeamGroupp T-FORCE Vulcan DDR5 6000MHz 32GB module.

Considered @RONOTHAN##'s suggestion to change slots 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3. Thought 1 ports should have been preferred, but I actually have less experience with X19.6 than he does.

It should function properly. The system would adjust to 6000Mhz regardless of the amount of RAM present. Apologies for the delayed reply.

I adjusted the RAM speed, yet my games keep crashing. The Resident Evil 4 remake and Black Ops 6 are still unstable, while Borderlands 3 and Ready or Not function properly. I scanned the drive and files, tried running as admin, but nothing resolved the issue. I’m unsure how to proceed.

Launch the command prompt and execute sfc/scannow to inspect Windows for damaged, broken, or absent files. Additionally, run memtest to verify RAM stability under the current settings.

It appears that the RAM is stable and performing adequately, as I conducted an extended four-hour test with no issues. Windows did detect a corrupted file and successfully repaired it; however, this action did not rectify the underlying problem. The only anomaly noted was related to the file Microsoft.Web.WebView2.Core.dll, which was not aligned with the expected version. To troubleshoot further, I plan on reducing the RAM speed to see if that alleviates the issue. Interestingly, when I was using a single 16GB stick of RAM, the system functioned perfectly without any crashes. Given that this setup is a pre-build, it’s possible there’s a misconfiguration somewhere, but at the moment, I’m unsure of the specific setting causing the problem.
