Hy guys, how are you? Hope your fine. I want to change my ram but I dont know which one to choose. I have a ryzen 5 3600 as my cpu, and a b450 from aorus. I have 3 brands in mind, trident z, corsair and hyperx. Here in argentina triden z cl14 dont exist practically and the ones that are in sale are double the price compared to the cl18 ones. I´ve been watching some benchmarcks and there´s not that much difference between this two types of memories, but I dont know if the two other brands have any of those type of memory. If anyone has any page or something where I can look what type of memories has corsair and hyperx rams I would be very greatful. PD: I mention the corsair and hyperx because they are much cheaper than trident z and if I can get the same performance for the same price it would be awesome

The speed and settings determine how well performance is impacted. The brand and model decide if the memory fits your motherboard (less common brands often miss QVL and cause problems). Warranty quality matters too, especially if you get a defective item. All three names mentioned are known for reliable memory, so they should be compatible with your board. Look for the fastest clock speed (up to 3600MHz), the best timing numbers (lower is better), and the most appealing design. Include price and verify that higher timings like CL17 aren't double the cost of a lower one.

Sure, I considered the XMP profile. Would it impact my CPU performance with a 3600 MHz memory? Since you mentioned the frequency was within limits, I’m unsure if it’s better to get a 3200 MHz and enable XMP or stick with 3600 and use XMP.

The XMP profile functions as a memory file stored in the module that informs the motherboard about supported speeds. Activating it essentially lets the board automatically apply the memory's rated frequencies, voltages, and timing settings without manual adjustment. In the worst case, you may need to fine-tune a few parameters to reach the intended speed, such as 3600MHz CL18 versus 3200MHz CL14. Unless you're purchasing extremely high-speed RAM (like 4800MHz CL18), it should function properly. Don't stress over XMP—just ensure the timing specifications are suitable for your chosen model.
