I'm planning to purchase a PC in a few months and am struggling to decide whether my current CPU and GPU setup is suitable for gaming. I was considering a Ryzen 7 5700 but now want an AMD Ryzen 5000 series for better performance and future upgrades. I also need a newer CPU to ensure a high-end system. The CPU, cooler, motherboard, RAM, storage, graphics card, case, and power supply are all selected for maximum performance in a gaming environment. The 5700G isn't the best choice since it lags behind the non-G models after upgrading. All Ryzen 7000 CPUs include built-in graphics, but their performance is modest (see link), similar to Intel's 12th-gen chips and easily surpassed by the 5600G/5700G and GT 1030. Expect 720p or 1080p/Low resolution, and most recent titles won't run at all. If you still have an older card from the past five years, it's probably much more capable.
Don't purchase components one at a time; it won't work well. Wait until you can afford a complete system together. If you must: Get a full PC without a GPU, then buy a used RX 580 or GTX 1060 around $50-60. (Choose a very affordable model.) It will be enough to play games while you save. Once you're ready, sell the used card for most of your cost.
