Currently I possess one 8 GB stick and another 4 GB DDR4 2400 Mhz unit. I’m considering adding four more GB. Should I sell the existing 4 GB stick and purchase an additional 8 GB, resulting in two 8 GB sticks, or should I just buy another 4 GB stick? Which option is better? Also, will the second choice lead to any issues or performance problems?

Dual channel performance greatly surpasses single channel options. Choose dual channel RAM at the same frequency (2400mhz).

I believe you need a bigger memory upgrade. Right now I have 12GB total—combining an 8GB stick and a 4GB stick. Are you thinking selling the 4GB stick and getting an 8GB stick instead, or should I just add another 4GB stick (which would be two 8GB sticks) to reach 16GB?

You have four RAM slots available, though using dual-channel improves upgrade potential. Offering them for $10 to $15 would make sense.
