Looking for guidance on selecting a motherboard?
I'm planning a long-term solution for my sister's system. With a limited budget, I need something reliable for daily use and future upgrades. Wi-Fi is essential, so I'm looking into options that fit within a tight budget. Currently, my list includes a CPU, motherboard, RAM, storage, and case. I'm considering whether to get a full motherboard with built-in Wi-Fi or opt for a more affordable board and add a Wi-Fi adapter later. The best boards for this setup would depend on performance needs and compatibility.
The price varies based on the cost without Wi-Fi. I suggest checking this adapter link: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dBFKHx/...er-tx3000e

Don't forget, you might be able to get some components cheaper second-hand.
It actually seems to function quite well, but I don’t see a need to switch from 3200G to 3400G. Since heavy CPU usage isn’t expected, you might save money and consider a bigger SSD instead. Could you explain why you chose that upgrade? Thank you for your help!
Longevity remains a focus, as demonstrated in the updated post. If the SSD functions merely as a boot device, its size shouldn't be excessive. This might be an ideal fit for the initial model I considered? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/rxDJ7P/...1480g0c101 Updated: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 3 3200G 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor $87.99 @ Amazon Motherboard Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard $72.99 @ Best Buy Memory G.Skill Aegis 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory $31.99 @ Newegg Storage Team GX1 480 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $46.99 @ Newegg Storage Western Digital RE4 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $38.99 @ Amazon Case Thermaltake Versa H17 MicroATX Mini Tower Case $44.99 @ Best Buy Power Supply Corsair CV 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply $65.00 @ Amazon Wireless Network Adapter Asus PCE-AC55BT B1 PCIe x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter $34.99 @ Amazon Prices cover shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $423.93 Created by PCPartPicker 2020-06-23 14:01 EDT-0400 Edited June 23, 2020 by Guest
