You're aiming for an Assassin champion to explore the jungle instead of bot. You need a strong Assassin with the ability to buy both Katarina and Master Yi. You mentioned you have sufficient funds to purchase both.

I've been playing league since the start of S2... And I'm saying the game is terrible (I'm diamond 5). Yi would be a better pick if you're looking to join.

Currently Akali and Zed are quite powerful. For beginners in Assassins, it's a good idea to start with them. (They're among the few assassins who survive in the jungle, while Katak and Zed won't.)
