Hello, so I've been grinding to get some parts to somewhat upgrade my PC for the past while. Well, I finally got the last of the parts (motherboard) today. When it arrived, I was pretty excited to be honest, I'd been waiting for a while for it to actually get delivered, and have been slowly getting stuff over the past 2 months or so. I immediately turned my PC off, stripped it out and went at it. Well, I installed the new PSU. then the motherboard/screws, then the CPU. Then I started connecting all the wires to the motherboard, most went fine, until I got to the F_panel connector. Its not the same connection, I immediately went to the manual of the motherboard to see if it had some information for me, it had very little tbh, but did have a QR code for a YouTube video. So I go to the video to show how to install the front panel connectors, and imagine my surprise and disappointment when I see, they are completely different. The ones in the video are like a series of separate connectors, while the one I have is a single connection. The one I have also seems to have to extra connectors, with like a black wire going out the back of one, and into another. Is there a way for me to connect the one I have to the new motherboard or am I screwed? The case I have is an old Dell desktop, I'm really just working with what I got here. I believe it is a Vostro 460 case, the motherboard is a MSI PRO H610M-E DDR4. I checked compatibility in terms of size, but the idea that the F_panel connector wouldn't be standardized never even occurred to me. I genuinely do not have money for a new case, as cheap as they can be. Is it possible to just kind of....connect it anyway? Please, any information from people more knowledgeable, would be gratefully appreciated.

Know which colored wires correspond to specific functions and you can easily rearrange them. If the connector matches the motherboard, simply adjust the pins or small screwdriver on the metal side and reorder them. If it doesn’t fit, you might look around for a computer recycler who could offer a case at a reduced price or even free. In the worst case, leave the side panel out and use a screwdriver to connect the power button pins, allowing the PC to start without shutting it down completely.
To discover the correct wiring, check the motherboard manual or manufacturer website for pinout diagrams. If you need a quick fix, refer to the front panel connector guide and ensure the plug matches your system. Avoid damaging components by following safe short-circuit methods. Access near the GPU is possible but may require caution due to restricted areas.

Secure the connection with electrical tape for both the Dupont connectors and the old front panel connector. Looks like there's space to reuse that plug by having the empty part not plugged in. If you have the new motherboard manual check that for the pintout, but it should be: With that plug the +5V and No Connection would not have the plug on them, we'd just be fitting it over the 8 pins needed with the rest overhanging not connected to anything. As for the old, try to see where on the front panel they connect. The LEDs are really the ones you need to get right, none of the others can cause any damage if you get them wrong. Even the LEDs if you get the polarity wrong, they just wont light up and you'd just need to reverse the pins.
