Hi everyone, new to the community.
Current Specifications
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro x64
Mobile Device: Z87-A
Processor: Intel Core i5-4570 @ 3.20 GHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 970
Display 1: GigabyteG27Q
Display 2: BenQ GW2760HS
Memory: 2 x 4GB PC3-12800 (800 MHz) G.Skill DDR3 / 2 x 4GB PC3-12800J (800 MHz) Kingston. RAM installed in dual channel
Storage: Kingston SV300S37A240G /// Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 750W (HCG-750M)
Case: HAF 912 COMBAT
If you plan to make some upgrades occasionally, what would be a sensible upgrade order? I believe the next steps should be a newer mobile and CPU, followed by SSDs since read speed and capacity are limited today. The GPU is likely to run low soon, but the 970 should still work for another year or two.
I’ve downloaded Halo Infinite and even with low settings it still drops at times.
Please share your thoughts! Thanks.

All components would need to be purchased together because existing ones require DDR4.

It's understandable, but this setup is nearly a decade old. Do you have any suggestions for a mid-level configuration?

Check how everything is working now.
Restart and pause for a few minutes, then run it with the browser closed.

Are you sure you restarted and then tried running UBM with the browser closed?

I restarted and performed the test immediately. Could there be too much leftover junk running in the background now? Is there a program that effectively cleans up such junk?

After rebooting, you must wait a few minutes. Windows will be quite active to complete the setup, so allow some time. Also, ensure UBM runs with the browser closed. Windows begins tasks from various locations, but a good starting point is the task manager/startup.
