I don’t have details on that particular feature in Blender. Switching from 3600 to a 5800x3D didn’t help my superposition score (it actually dropped a bit) and my firestrike score, which you’d expect to improve since it checks both GPU and CPU, stayed roughly the same. CB23 scores did rise as expected, but overall it wasn’t much better. For CPU-heavy tasks, I think a 5900X or 5 950X would be more suitable, based on other benchmarks. Unfortunately, I didn’t do many comparisons in games—I did, but screenshots are hard to find—and it’s not very helpful for me personally. I mainly play at 60 or 120fps, so it doesn’t really matter much. Besides, you’re also doing other things, so a 5900X would probably be a better upgrade overall. *Also, I only noticed this after the fact.* My 3600 with PBO settings—200V offset and +200Hz—was surprisingly power-hungry, using around 115W, and it felt just as hot as the 5800X3D. So it might not be a fair comparison, but I’m not really impressed with my 5800X3D benchmarks at all. In fact, I’d struggle to tell the difference except in CB23, where the 5800X3D is clearly faster, though not dramatically so. Anyway, you did see some improvement—probably not surprising since Zen 3 is faster—but I didn’t test much. I should check my SOTTR benchmarks with the 3600… probably there.
In WZ2 my 3900X had trouble maintaining over 120 FPS. With the 5800X3D it reaches up to 200 FPS, and the GPU is the main factor, rarely dropping below 150 FPS. Kingdom Come Deliverance in Rattay now stays under 60 FPS but exceeds 100 in open areas, and Cities: Skylones also shows about a 50% boost.
Sure, that makes sense. It really does vary by game, doesn't it? For me, it's tough to spot the difference between 120 and 120fps. My Firefight scores haven’t changed much over 3600, so they stay the same. I mostly play games without paying and haven’t checked my old benchmarks—probably because they’re on another drive.
