Looking for guidance on assembling your initial computer?
Hello
I’m starting my first PC build and need some advice on selecting the right components. I’ve made a list already, but I’m not sure if it’s perfect. Thank you for your help and any suggestions you can offer ☺️
Budget: 700$-900$

I would consider a more affordable option and direct the savings into a better PSU.
The Gigabyte D-series “Ultra Durable” boards aren’t ideal. I experienced a failure after roughly three years. Consider increasing your budget to an MSI MAG or ASUS TUF (or similar mid-range options). The B550 chipset also works with a PCIE 4.0 NVME SSD. Your selection is fine, but look for comparable prices.

A modest savings on the motherboard is possible, but it remains a significant component. I’d also consider a reasonably priced 1080p monitor; while 1440p is fine, it demands more powerful hardware to be used effectively.
I have a concern about the build – there is no operating system included, and the RAM cost isn’t part of the assembly. The build I recommend suggests models above 700-900, but you might want to remove an aftermarket cooler; however, it’s not advised. I chose a generation back RX 6800 with under £400, which offers good bandwidth at 256 and can handle 1440p. You could reduce the storage size to save some money as well.

consider adding another minor detail for future proofing and strengthen it by mentioning a Ryzen 7 5700X if budget allows, or increasing RAM to 2 x 16GB at 3200 as an example where games like Hogwarts Legacy consume a lot of memory. But the above should still work well for 1440p.
if you want to use that 2k monitor, get a better GPU:
