You need to adjust how you set up your games outside of Nvidia GeForce Experience since they often lack good options. I’m trying to find better settings without relying on Ultra. What changed about Medium and High? It’s confusing. I usually run games at 60fps for smoother visuals, and I think that works better. I’m using an FX-8320 with 8GB RAM, GTX 660, and 3GB of memory. I’m not sure which adjustments really affect performance the most, so I’m looking for the settings that cause the biggest impact. Instead of guessing, I want a data-driven approach.

I'll focus on tessellation and post-processing.

AA experiences a significant impact, while post-processing demands considerable processing power. The other adjustments you mentioned do affect performance but to a lesser extent than AA, such as anisotropic filtering and post-processing. Toggle each setting on or off during gameplay to observe the changes in visuals and performance. This will help you understand what compromises you're comfortable making for speed or what visuals you're willing to accept. Naturally, the perfect balance is what everyone approves of, but personal tolerance varies. Experiment and discover what suits you best. You'll likely find the optimal settings within half an hour of testing, which can be applied across all games.

For GuestForeverX AA, consider tiling, view distance, post processing, and texture resolution. Ambient occlusion can also be demanding. Terrain detail might affect performance differently based on low vs high population density. PhysX may impact performance heavily without a compatible Nvidia GPU. Overall, modern hardware usually handles PhysX well.

Optimal approach is to adjust the settings and discover which ones strain your PC the most.
