I'll purchase a 9600k but have Hyper 212 installed. Won't overclock it until I get a Dark Rock 4. That seems like a good plan?
It's fine, but if you're pushing it to 5.0ghz you'll need even more power for pro—it's a bit more demanding, though the difference isn't too big.
