It's true it works well on other systems, but it seems to have issues on your PC. You mentioned having multiple options like Canyon, Stadium, Valley, and Sunrise—probably you're comparing performance across different setups.

Did you get it from Steam? Don't go downloading it from there.

You might have to add the Visual C++ pack.

General open-world experiences include titles like Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3 & 4 (I haven't played 2 and 5 because it's costly and not as good as 3 & 4). Final Fantasy X, X-2, and XII would be a solid beginning, particularly XII. You might enjoy the 13th Triology. Ni no Kuni II is also worth considering. Borderlands and Borderlands II lean more toward multiplayer aspects...

Give it a shot. A few stand out, even if you don’t enjoy anime. Some aren’t impressive unless you’re already into them. Try Final Fantasy XII and see where it takes you. You might like Tales of Beseria or Zestiria. That RTS stuff? Not great anymore. There were better options back then. I’d suggest starting with Command & Conquer 2, the Age of Empires series, Supreme Commander, and similar titles. RTS games aren’t as strong these days, but they were popular in the late ’90s to early 2000s.

Kek in dark souls? Fallout with mods (Mxr mods weekly or alchestbreach work well) any civilization will do, warframe tends to be single-player focused. That’s roughly what I remember. Stalker is an option. Call of Pripyat is a mod for the third game that gives it a fully open format.

I also enjoy games with lots of storytelling for one player. Here are some suggestions without a specific order: Metal Gear Solid 5 Far Cry (especially versions 3 and 5), Blood Dragon, The Witcher 1 and 2, Dishonored (just the first one out of three), Spec Ops: The Line Middle Earth (both Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War), and Nier Automata. Have fun!
