Hey! I just started recording PUBG with OBS, but my performance was pretty bad. Frame rates hovered between 45-60 in cities and 80 in open areas, sometimes dropping to 40. Even when stable at 70-80, there’s a subtle stutter that’s hard to spot. When not recording, I see 90-100+ in cities with occasional drops to 70-80, usually during inventory opens.

I’m using very low texture settings and set OBS to 720p60, MP, NVENC H encoder, and 10k bitrate. Using x264 Encode with the “veryfast” preset causes my CPU to spike to around 90% in cities—way too high. Switching to NVENC keeps it at about 60-70%. Shadowplay works for recording but can’t capture voice chat (Discord, TeamSpeak).

Any tips or alternatives? Settings suggestions would be great! Thanks a lot.

Adjusting the game to a very low setting could lead to unexpected issues. Try changing it to, for example, medium with high textures and see if that helps.

The issue is that I experience severe stuttering when entering the inventory if textures are set to higher values. This seems related to VRAM usage.

It's also available in early access mode... Honestly, I shouldn't raise too much hope. This is typical for indie developers with limited emphasis on polish—more about getting the most out of the experience rather than perfect optimization.
