I have a 4-year-old niece, and the only ones who watch her are me and my girlfriend. I really love her, but being 21 and introverted makes it tough to keep her entertained for long. My girlfriend isn’t always available, and I’m not great at keeping kids engaged. I’ve noticed she loves watching me play video games, especially the ones with action or adventure. Most of my games are violent, and I worry it wouldn’t be safe for her to see me play something so intense. Recently, she came into my room and asked to watch me play. I was playing Assassin’s Creed Unity, so I thought it would be a good idea to explore the game’s highlights instead. No scary or violent scenes, just cool moments. I tried playing Batman, but the pace felt too fast for her to follow, and she kept saying it wasn’t the same Batman on TV. I’m not sure what else to try, and I’m looking for something fun and safe for both of us. Any suggestions would be really helpful!

It seems you're considering Minecraft as a great idea. She could watch and join in designing projects, especially in creative mode. Experimenting with Redstone could lead to interesting builds like houses.

Worms, portals and certain game modes in Gmod seem fitting. These are the ones that come to mind.

Use a wired controller placed behind your PC so it appears connected. For wireless models, simply hand it over and provide clear instructions. You can enjoy any GTA game and drive freely—your niece might enjoy the explosions, and she probably laughed at them too. Minecraft is also a fun option.

Sure, give it a shot with Minecraft or Goat Simulator. PvZ Garden Warfare could also work.

The only idea that came to mind was FEZ. Most other suggestions had already been discussed. -edit: Maybe titles like Castle Crashers, though I’m not sure if it’s violent. Also, Point and Click Adventures could work well. For example, Deponia offers a nice pen-and-paper art style, charming characters, and an easy-to-follow story.

Looking for racing games? Minecraft is also a great option for kids. EDIT: FTL might be worth considering too.
