Searching for a lively street racing title on Steam. You're interested in varied cars and tracks with solid movement controls. Since you don't own a racing wheel, look for games that work well with controllers.

Grid autosport provided an enjoyable experience, though it wasn't exclusively street racing.

An interesting concept involves distance. A fast-paced game where you can fly, get cut by lasers, and it's really engaging. You control both hands on the keyboard (or controller) and the level editor adds a lot of fun.

I must admit it’s hard to say otherwise, but the driving in Mad Max is truly outstanding. Crafting and improving your vehicles plus navigating suspension across varied landscapes are all very polished. Not exactly the answer you wanted, but it’s definitely unique...lol

Focus mainly on PC, with minimal Steam use. For an Xbox 360 and compatible peripheral, Midnight Club: Los Angeles is an excellent option.

Back then, Need for Speed Underground 1 was great, but I’m not sure how it holds up now.

Most games from Need For Speed up to NFS Carbon are decent, though a bit old. Grid is the exception.

Right now there aren't many options, but I expect the demand for faster performance will rise sometime in spring this year, and I'm confident it will happen.

If you like tuning your car SLRR is a nice one. A lot of mods that are easy to install, bunch of parts, sadly quite old and the graphics aren't great.
