I want to connect two Logitech Z906 units to my PC using a digital optical cable from a S/pdif motherboard simultaneously. I found information about a splitter (1x3) setup, where one input feeds three outputs. My system will send one output from the motherboard and have two inputs for the sound system.
I’m wondering if using a splitter will affect the sound quality or frequency balance? Will the audio remain consistent and clear? If I use just one sound system, what happens when I connect two with a splitter—will they deliver identical sound quality? I want to maintain accurate, full-sound clarity from both systems at the same time. My concern is that one motherboard can support a 5.1 or 7.1 setup, but I’m trying to use two separate 5.1 systems.
I previously used two Microlab 4.1 and 2.1 sound systems connected via an AUX cable through an audio converter, and the sound quality dropped significantly. That experience is making me uncertain.
Please let me know any advice.

No, the signal for both is identical. It’s a digital bitstream on the optical cable, not an analog signal (such as the “aux” connection you referenced). As long as the splitter doesn’t weaken the light enough to cause dropouts or other noticeable issues, it should function properly. Because it’s digital, the same data will reach both sound systems.

I received numerous thanks from maan. Your response eases all my worries. I was concerned about the two-week wait, as it would be very expensive in my country—around $425.53 each. Could you recommend which Splitter brand would be preferable? I need to buy from Amajon. Here are some options I found:

1. j- tech
https://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-Pr...etail&th=1

2. Tendak
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0119OKGVI?th=1

3. Dotstone
https://www.amazon.com/DotStone-TOSLINK-...7PWF1CK3WJ

4. ViewHD
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G191YL8/ref...B01IP9DK3Q

Please note that the Logitech Z906 can decode DTS and Dolby Digital 5:1 channels, so I should look for a Splitter that supports these formats. If you have any other recommendations or better brands, feel free to share—they would be very useful for me.
Thank you again.

Many many thanks, maan. Your response has eased all my worries. I was concerned about the two-week wait, as it’s quite expensive in my country—around $425.53 each. Could you recommend which Splitter brand would be preferable? I need to buy from Amajon. Here are some options I found:

4. ViewHD

Note: The Logitech Z906 can decode DTS and Dolby Digital 5:1 channels, so I’m looking for a Splitter that supports those formats. A passive splitter with better reliability ratings would be ideal. If you have any other suggestions, please share—they’d be very useful for me.
Thanks again

bro i get confused, the powered repeaters splitter will degrade the optical signal or the unpowered repeaters splitter will degrade the optical signal ????
I thought those powered repeaters splitter will help to keep strong the optical signal, no data will be lost, if somehow any lack happen the power will cover them up that's why i choose them.
Bro can u please suggest me any unpowered splitter, i request you to give me any name or link of amazon pls. pls bro do it for me. pls
Thanks again.

No, I meant that the unpowered splitters could affect the signal. The powered ones should work properly.
