Looking for assistance with your HOT I9 13900K? Trying the Be quiet pure loop 280 on the Asrock Z790 PG ripley MB setup.
Hello, my name is Alexandru from Romania. I recently purchased and assembled a new PC. The processor is an i9 13900 K with 32 GB RAM and 6000 MHz. The cooling system includes a Be Quiet Pure Loop cooler with 280 MB of memory, an ASRock Z790 PG ripeter, and a BIOS that behaves strangely. It booted fine on the first try. However, during startup temperatures reached between 40-45°C, and when opening software they climbed past 60°C. Downloading peaked at around 90°C. The fans are controlled via the Be Quiet controller, and the pump is located on CPU fan 1. Everything started up without issues. While gaming in Dota 2 it hit about 70°C, and during NFS UNBOUND it reached 97°C – definitely too high. I checked the cooler placement but found it well secured. Gaming in Unbound was even hotter. I attempted undervolting but experienced crashes. I lowered the game load to around 87% and reduced the voltage to 1.2V. I searched online for multi-core enhancements, but nothing appeared in the BIOS settings. I’m open to discussing this on Discord and hoping someone can help lower my temperatures. Did I make any mistakes? Please advise.
Those are just the temperatures recorded at 13900k. Did you check the reviews? You'd understand it's typical for this model, especially with a 280
Consider whether a larger AIO would be beneficial and assess the risks of pushing performance too high. Evaluate your comfort level with the potential strain on the system.
Some studies suggest a 250W cap works well for a 280mm AIO CLC. However, with 360mm and 420mm models running at unlimited power (320w–400w), cooling isn’t sufficient—consider a custom loop. Also, I shared this in another thread; did you take off the sticker on the waterblock?
Now its too late to take it back , I will have to sell it , or live with it like this. ALSO Is it a problem that my AIO fans are plugged into my be quiet controller? that syncs my fans? Cause on the instalation video i saw there is a dongle to plug those two in CPU FAN 2, but i didnt have anything like that.
I did it, and I removed the glue residue from the backplate using isopropyl alcohol.
