Battery used to work before i unplugged it, this is a replacement since my old one's connector got burnt up :/. Decided to not charge above 20% +, laptop still recognizes the battery and still boots up quickly. (Laptop used to take a while to boot up on first try without battery) Should I try cleaning out the port, if so would isopropyl be able to clean it fine?

Isopropyl should work, but it might feel like a burn. That suggests your battery likely lost some cells. This could mean it’s not rechargeable anymore and has been damaged enough to cook it.

If that’s what you have, sure. I believe all concentrations should work. No discernible benefit to one over the other.
