I’m preparing to play Tekkit and similar modpacks using the official launcher. I’m open to paying for a rental server but need advice on what to choose. I’ll likely have 2–3 players at most, and it won’t need constant uptime. Running my own PC seems tricky, so I’m seeking guidance. I checked https://hosthavoc.com/minecraft.php but still unsure about the setup plan. Thanks, JTB.

For a small Tekkit server, I recommend at least 2 GB of RAM. When choosing a host, avoid Host Havoc and consider alternatives such as Shockbyte or BisectHosting—they seem to be the most reliable options.

Host Havoc appears to be one of the stronger contenders based on what I've heard.

They seem fine after more investigation. I set up a server for a few years and experienced some negative emotions toward certain hosts. NOTE: Disregard the ^^^ you can earn $2.50 per 1GB at Shockbyte.

You'll need around 2GB of storage for mods. As for Shockbyte and Tekkit, it depends on the specific setup, but they can generally work together.

2GB suffices for a modest Tekkit server. Previously, they offered Tekkit as a ready-made .jar; if unavailable, reach out for a tailored version.
