I was planning to purchase Windows 7 on Amazon, but a review mentioned it might become unsupported, requiring a new license if hardware changes occur. Could you clarify what this means for my situation? Also, I’m searching for a copy under $100 and would value any advice on making the right decision.

This means you're getting an OEM key, which is inexpensive. If you need a genuine alternative, you'll need to pay extra. The only real way to get something different would be to replace your motherboard.

Don't go after Windows, it's just a waste of cash.

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. It refers to products made by a company that supplies parts or systems for another manufacturer's products. You can usually find the full version on the official website of the OEM or through authorized distributors.

You’ll set up your new PC by connecting all components, installing the operating system, and configuring settings to ensure everything works properly.

It seems like you're asking about something that's essential. Could you clarify what you mean?

OEM keys serve PC builders who believe customs won't alter their hardware. Many OEMs are also used by Dell, HP, and others. You might find a budget full Windows 7 key on G2A. Staying with an OEM works well if you switch to Windows 10, or upgrade your motherboard on Windows 10 using an OEM key—Microsoft will still allow you to run Windows 10.

Downloaded a Windows installer and placed it on a USB drive—unless you clearly lack both a computer and a USB port.

G2A appears to be a legitimate platform, but always verify with current reviews. Regarding upgrading hardware after purchasing an OEM version and switching to Windows 10, it depends on the specific components—some may support upgrades while others might not. Check the product details for compatibility.
