Hello, I own a TP-WR840N but it faces issues such as Wi-Fi disconnection, slow PPPoP connection, and reduced internet speed. I’m considering purchasing a new router and have some options in mind. If you have better recommendations, especially if they exceed the shortlisted ones, your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The routers I’ve considered are TP-Link Archer A6 ($30.42), TP-Link Archer C60 ($29.10), and D-Link DIR-825 (price listed as $27.12 previously). Please note all prices are in USD and based on your budget of up to $35. Requirements include dual-band capability, Gigabit speed, USB port, custom firmware support (optional), PPPoP reliability, and at least five device connections. Current plan supports 50 Mbps upload and download speeds. Thank you.

Lack of experience with DLink and its poor firmware. Remembered the DIR835 could run third-party firmware, making it usable. Previously set up an TP Link Archer C7 with basic firmware.

Thank you for the feedback. I added custom firmware since the router ages and installing it allows us to enable USB support. I updated that post accordingly.

Opt for the available options at this cost level. Ensure wireless AC and MU-MIMO are part of the features.
