I received a GTX 1070 for my brother's computer this holiday. I made sure his power supply was sufficient (700 watts) and that he had the proper slot and space, but I overlooked checking if he had all the correct cables. His PSU is modular, and among the cables available to me, I only have one 8-pin PCI connector, while the GPU requires both an 8-pin and a 6-pin. I understand you should never mix PSU cables, especially between brands, so that's out of the question. However, the system has some unused Molex connectors. Do you have any suitable converters to cover those remaining six pins?

The connector layout on the female side is consistent, ensuring ease of use. One 8-pin unit delivers over 200 watts, making it suitable for this application.

Absolutely, the higher-draw 1070s perform quite well too. My 1070 AMP usually reached 170-180, which is perfectly normal for an 8-pin setup plus the bus.

I wouldn't connect the dual Molex to a 6-pin on this GPU. Molex components are limited to 50 watts and often not well-made. You might end up with a messy situation.

The 8-pin unit is designed for 150 watts, but it can handle higher loads securely. 250 watts is typically acceptable.
